EATSBUENO COMMUNITY GUIDELINES
Welcome

Welcome to the EatsBueno community 🎉
Here we want you to find a safe, friendly and useful space to build healthy habits around food, your well-being and your daily life.

These Community Guidelines are part of our Terms of Service and apply to all social features of the Platform: forums, comments, groups, reactions, messages, public profiles and any other area where you can interact with other users or post content.

If you violate these Community Guidelines, we may take action, including removing content, limiting social features, and suspending or closing your account.

⚠️ Remember: many community spaces are public. What you post can be seen, saved, or shared by others. Think carefully before sharing personal or sensitive information.

Our mission, vision and values

Mission

To provide a space where our users feel safe, welcome and accompanied while working on healthier habits and a calmer relationship with food and their well-being.

Vision

To be a community of mutual support where each person can progress on their own path towards a more organized, conscious, and healthy life, through positive interactions, motivation, and respectful guidance.

Community values

  • Be kind and empathetic
Behind every profile is a real person. We don't know their whole story. Treat others as you would like to be treated.

  • Respect the different paths
Everyone has their own context, culture, body, time, and resources. There is no single "right way."

  • Leave the space better than you found it
Contribute, add value, encourage, inform. If you participate in a thread, ask yourself: "Does this help, add clarity, or simply create conflict?"

2. Who can participate in the community

In accordance with our Terms of Service:

  • You must be at least 18 years old, unless the law of your country requires a different age to be able to accept online contracts.

  • If you are under 18 years of age (or under the age of majority in your country), you may only use the Platform with the consent and supervision of your parent or legal guardian, who will be responsible for your use.

Creating or using accounts in the name of minors without proper supervision is not permitted.

3. General principles

Before we get into the details, here's a summary:

  1. Respect above all: no insults, personal attacks, harassment or hate speech.

  2. Suitable and safe content: no pornography, graphic violence, or glorification of self-harm, eating disorders, or dangerous diets.

  3. No spam or covert advertising.

  4. Protect your privacy and the privacy of others. Do not share other people's personal data or pressure them to do so.

  5. Do not give or present medical advice as if it were professional. EatsBueno is not a medical service.

Obey the law: no illegal content or advocacy of illegal activities.

4. Be empathetic and respectful

We want a space where people can talk openly, even about difficult topics.

Do:

  • Listen, ask questions, and answer respectfully.

  • Keep in mind that some people are just starting out and others have been in the process for years.

  • Disagree with ideas, not with people.

Don't:

  • attack, humiliate, or ridicule someone because of their questions, their situation, their weight, their appearance, their language, or their level of knowledge.

  • follow a person through different threads just to argue with or provoke them.

  • make fun of a mistake, a relapse, or a difficulty.

If you cannot respond respectfully, use the tools of block/ignore or just don't answer.

5. Hate speech, discrimination and violence

Zero tolerance for hate speech.

It is not allowed:

  • Using insults, stereotypes, or derogatory language toward people or groups because of their:

    • age, sex or gender identity,

    • sexual orientation,

    • weight, body type or physical appearance,

    • disability, health condition, or neurodivergence,

    • racial, ethnic or national origin,

    • immigration or socioeconomic status,

    • religion or beliefs,

    • veteran status, etc.

  • Promoting, justifying or romanticizing violence against any person or group (even if it is a “joke”).

  • Sharing content that promotes racism, xenophobia, homophobia, transphobia, or other forms of hate.

  • Supporting organizations or groups known for promoting hatred or violence.

6. Interact in a positive way (without spam or trolling)

A community functions best when it is built up, not sabotaged.

Do:

  • Use positive reactions (support, gratitude, encouragement).

  • Tag other people (@username) to thank, congratulate, or add something to what they say.

  • Use the reporting feature when you see content that may violate these guidelines.

Don't:

  • Spam: repeated messages, irrelevant links, "copying and pasting" the same thing in many threads.

  • Using mentions to attack, ridicule, or harass someone.

  • Constantly diverting a thread from the original topic (aggressive off-topic).

  • Responding with "just Google it" or making someone feel stupid for their question.

  • Opening duplicate threads just to get attention or dominate the recent conversations list.

7. Images and visual content

EatsBueno can include photos of meals, progress, routines, etc. That's great, as long as it's suitable and respectful.

Not allowed:

  • Nudity, pornography or sexually explicit content.

  • Images where breasts, buttocks or genitals are exposed or barely covered.

  • Photos in underwear or where only hands/objects cover intimate parts.

  • Violent, bloody, or graphic images.

  • Content featuring weapons or glorifying violence.

  • Images with insults, hate symbols, or political propaganda.

Think about it: Would this image be acceptable in a general work environment (“work-appropriate”)? If the answer is no, don't upload it.

8. Language and sensitive topics

EatsBueno is a space for people from different backgrounds and sensibilities.

Avoid:

  • Vulgar or extremely aggressive language.

  • Graphic descriptions of violence, self-harm, or sexual acts.

  • Trying to "trick" our language filters by using symbols to write insults.

You can talk about difficult topics (relationship with food, anxiety, guilt, etc.) respectfully and without morbid or graphic details.

9. Health, food, weight and safety

EatsBueno talks a lot about food, habits and well-being. That's why we're especially careful here.

9.1 We do not give medical advice

  • What is shared in the community does not replace the advice of a health professional.

  • It is not permitted to present oneself as a medical or health professional without being one.

  • You may not diagnose others (“you have X disorder”) or prescribe personalized treatments as if they were medical prescriptions.

9.2 We do not promote eating disorders or dangerous practices

Not allowed:

  • To support, promote, and glorify:

    • anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, or any eating disorder,

    • extremely restrictive or dangerous diets,

    • prolonged fasting or practices that may cause severe harm.

  • Give detailed instructions on how to stop eating, purge, misuse laxatives or diuretics, etc.

  • Publishing "thinspiration" content or idealizing extreme thinness.

You can talk about your difficulties or experiences, but not to teach other people how to harm themselves or to glorify dangerous behavior.

9.3 Self-harm and suicide

Not allowed:

  • Glorifying, romanticizing, or encouraging self-harm or suicide.

  • Sharing detailed instructions on how to harm oneself.

It's valid to say you're going through a rough patch or struggling with your mental health, but the focus should be to seek support and care, not to promote harmful behaviors.

If at any time you believe that you or someone else is in immediate danger, you should seek help from emergency services or professionals in your country. The community cannot replace professional help.

10. Advertising, self-promotion and commercial content

We want the community to be free of spam and aggressive advertising.

In general, the following are not allowed:

  • Using forums or groups to promote your coaching, consulting, therapy, training, etc. services in a repetitive or invasive manner.

  • Publishing links to your social media, personal websites, blogs, or channels with the main intention of gaining clients, followers, or sales.

  • Request donations, crowdfunding, payments or transfers.

  • Create content primarily to drive traffic away from EatsBueno.

Links to the following may be allowed, in moderation:

  • Informative articles or quality studies on habits, wellness, nutrition science, etc.

  • General resources that add value (and are not disguised self-promotion).

If you're unsure whether something is advertising, it probably is: it's best to check beforehand or not post it.

11. Privacy and personal data

Your privacy and the privacy of others is a priority.

Not allowed:

  • Publishing other people's personal data (doxxing), such as:

    • full name,

    • postal address,

    • telephone,

    • personal email,

    • social networks,

    • links to meetings, etc.

  • Persistently asking other people to share contact details or personal information.

  • Posting screenshots of private messages without the consent of all parties (and even then, it may not be appropriate).

Remember: many areas of the community are public and may appear in external search results.

12. Identity, impersonation and multiple accounts

Trust is key.

Not allowed:

  • Impersonating other people (members, staff, moderators, brands, etc.).

  • Creating fake accounts to deceive, harass, manipulate debates, or evade blocks or bans.

  • Pretending to be a healthcare professional if you are not one.

If you need to change your username, follow the official support channels instead of creating multiple accounts.

13. Legality and illegal content

We must obey the law, and so should you.

It is not allowed:

  • Publishing content that infringes copyrights, trademarks, patents, or trade secrets.

  • Sharing illegal content, such as child exploitation material, incitement to crime, credible threats, etc.

  • Promoting the illegal use of dangerous substances or activities.

  • Coordinating scams, frauds, or any other illegal activity.

  • Sharing deceptive links, malware, phishing, or other malicious content.

We can remove content and cooperate with authorities when required by law.

14. Misinformation and disinformation

We want EatsBueno to be a place of responsible information.

Not allowed:

  • Publishing extreme or miraculous health claims without serious backing (e.g., "this diet cures all diseases in 3 days").

  • Spreading false or misleading information with the intention of causing fear, hatred, or confusion.

  • Manipulating content (e.g., images or screenshots) in a way that deceives other users.

You can share your personal experience, but present it as such: personal experience, not as absolute truth or scientific evidence.

15. Sensitive topics: politics, religion and conflicts

EatsBueno is not a political or religious forum.

Not allowed:

  • Using the community to campaign politically, support political parties or figures.

  • To initiate religious debates whose purpose is to convince, attack, or exclude other people.

  • Create threads whose main theme is an ideological conflict unrelated to the mission of EatsBueno (food, habits, well-being).

You may speak respectfully about cultural practices related to food (festivals, culinary traditions, religious fasts, etc.), as long as the focus is on the well-being and understanding, not the doctrinal discussion.

16. Specific groups and spaces

If the Platform includes groups (public or private):

  • The Community Guidelines apply equally in all groups.

  • Creating a group does not authorize you to ignore these guidelines.

  • As the creator or admin of a group, you must also moderate and enforce these guidelines within your space.

Creating groups for the following purposes is not allowed:

  • To harass, laugh at, or attack a person or group of people.

  • Sharing or promoting content that is already prohibited by these guidelines.

17. Moderation, reporting and warning system

We do our best to keep the community safe, but you may find inappropriate content before we see it. That's why your help is important.

17.1 How to report content

If you see content that you believe violates these guidelines, you can use the reporting feature.

For example:

  • Spam / advertising: bots, repetitive messages, links to dubious products, etc.

  • Abuse / serious content: insults, threats, hate speech, pornography, explicit self-harm, etc.

  • Other violations: aggressive off-topic, impersonation, dangerous misleading information, etc.

A moderation team will review the reports and decide on the appropriate actions.

17.2 Abuse of reporting functions

Reporting content just because you don't like someone, because you think differently, or to create drama is also an offense.

  • Abusive and repeated use of the reporting function may result in warnings and restrictions on your account.

17.3 Warning and sanction system (example)

We can use a point system, for example:

  • Informal notice (0 points)

    • For minor offenses or first incidents.

    • We remind you of the relevant rule.

  • Minor warning (2 points)

    • For clear infractions or minor repeat offenses.

    • This may involve temporary publishing restrictions.

  • Serious warning (3 points)

    • For serious attacks, hate speech, explicit sexual content, etc.

    • It usually involves a longer temporary ban.

  • Suspension / ban (5 active points or accumulation of warnings)

    • If you accumulate a certain number of active points or several warnings in a period, your account may be suspended or banned indefinitely.

The specific details of the system may be adjusted over time, but the idea is clear:
More serious or repeated offenses = more serious consequences.

18. Disputes over moderation

Moderation is a complicated task, but necessary to maintain a safe environment.

  • If you disagree with a moderation decision, please don't open public threads to protest.

  • Instead, contact the team through the indicated channels (e.g., in-app support or contact email) and calmly explain your case.

Not allowed:

  • Attacking, harassing, or threatening moderators or team members.

  • Launching public campaigns against another person for a moderation decision.

19. General approach and responsibility

  • It is key that everyone who uses EatsBueno respects these Guidelines to maintain a friendly, safe and supportive environment.

  • Not everyone will feel comfortable with this style of community, and that's okay: EatsBueno may not be the right space for everyone.

  • We reserve the right to delete content, restrict features, or close accounts when we feel that someone does not fit in with the spirit and norms of the community.

The content posted by the community is the responsibility of the person who posts it:

  • EatsBueno does not automatically verify everything that is shared.

  • You are responsible for your interactions and how you use the information you read.

  • Whenever you have health concerns, consult qualified professionals.

We reserve the right to apply (or not apply) these Guidelines on a case-by-case basis, at our discretion, and this does not create a contractual obligation to act in a specific way in each situation.
